Physical Rewards

The state of shipping products to America has been a bit …turbulent as of late. This is causing delays for our tumbler production, but we will continue to keep you all updated as soon as we know when they will be finished!

Progress

We’re still keeping a good pace with our single-player improvements!

Group Campsite Behaviours

Once you’ve obtained multiple Mythren, they have the ability to interact with each other in the campsite. We think it will allow for you to have interesting interactions every time you’re at camp, and allows for you to see how your Mythren interact with each other! Here’s a small preview of how this will work once in camp.

Dialogue System Upgrades

Our dialogue system is receiving some updates. If you remember, earlier last year, we transitioned to 2D Portraits to test whether they’d be faster to create. While that didn’t work out, we realized our previous way of dialogue created a large workload for conversations in terms of setting up environments and cameras to make the scene feel like all the characters are there. We’ve set up a new system that allows for up to 8 characters in a conversation. This was inspired by Granblue Fantasy Versus, and it definitely makes the conversations feel more lively. Here’s an example preview

Camera Modes

When traversing the overworld in our old prototypes, there were many instances in which we wanted more control over the camera whether its for a specific area, or certain movement modes. We’ve scaled up our camera system to allow for changing camera modes, and setting up custom transitions between the modes through a variety of animation curves.

Scowl

We’re implementing Scowl in-engine now, and working on another Mythren that hopefully you’ll see soon! We should be ramping up the Mythren additions and slowly introducing them to the combat alpha in updates. Here’s a preview of Scowl in-engine!

Scowl

General Updates

  • Aidan: has finished up our stealth system, and will be working on getting Scowl in the combat alpha along with Drake
  • Jon: Worked on our internal milestone “The Skeleton Patch”, and is finishing up work on dialogue system updates like you’ve seen above!
  • Hallie has continued work on making sure we’re keeping track of our milestone progress, and adjusting the schedule as necessary.
  • Drake: Continued work on Graccoon’s Combat Progression, and is starting work in-engine with Aidan for Scowl.
  • Zane has had to take a step back to focus on school, so Jon has taken over worldbuilding and level design for now!
