Combat Alpha Release

Hey Tamers,

After a long wait, the combat alpha is out! While it was initially scheduled for an August release, getting the Steam Page live took a week longer than expected.

We can't wait to see you guys send clips of your combos and hope the extra code allows you to playtest it with friends besides your local ones.

Getting your Access

Your codes will be sent through BackerKit (you should receive an email, otherwise you can log into your BackerKit and look for your digital rewards) and are redeemable on Steam.

Eventually, there will be a combat alpha tester role if you want to see the channels for feedback / matchmaking. Currently, the channels on discord are open for everyone until the role is setup!

Expectations

Please remember that this is an alpha! There will be things that can be improved, please make sure to leave feedback in the discord channel if there's anything you'd like to see updated!

If you're having trouble understanding a character's kit, I would recommend pausing while in a battle and checking out their move list. Each character has a written out move list that should give more information on how moves in their kit work.

The Combat Alpha will not be updated like a live service game. During the first few weeks, we'll be actively updating as much as we can based on any feedback. After the dust settles, we will push updates as we finish out mythren designs that are ready for testing, and other combat related encounters. We will post updates and announcements when there's something new to test!

We're eager to get back to pushing for more single player content, but rest assured we'll have more mythren and combat experiences coming to the combat alpha periodically!

Steam Page

Our Steam Page is finally live (took us long enough)! So please wishlist if you get the chance! Wishlist Here!.

  • Steam is showing Mythren as free, which it is not, so we'll make sure to get that resolved with steam soon! You cannot download it without the Steam Keys, so there's nothing to worry about there. *

Thanks for being patient with us, though development is taking longer than we expected, we're excited to keep moving forward on development so that we can make Mythren amazing! We appreciate all of your support more than you know. Our bi-monthly newsletters will resume in November!

Generally Helpful Extra Information

These are posted on our discord, I will copy here for anyone who is not inside of it. Discord is the best place to leave feedback for the Combat Alpha, so consider joining if you haven't already done so!

Controllers and Keybinds

If your controller isn't working, you want to assign something to player 1 / player 2, or you want to change keybinds, this will all be done from Settings -> Change Controls.

You must use your mouse to interact with this UI. This will be updated in the future, but currently it's a larger undertaking than we had time for.

You can remove and assign new controllers in this menu for both Player0 and Player1 (Player 1 and Player 2) You can also rebind your controls, the button next to the action you want to rebind and follow the on screen prompt for rebinding.

Extra Combat Details

  • There is a combo multiplier, the longer it goes on, the less damage it will deal (to try and prevent 100 - 0 combos)

  • Enemies on the ground cannot be knocked up unless it is by a skill (certain skills are great for extending combos)

  • In that same vein, there is a knockup multiplier and a bounce multiplier. You can only do two bounces per combo before the person will no longer bounce from moves that cause a bounce. Knockups and Bounces contribute to a knockup multiplier meaning the next knockup will gain less height (until they barely leave the ground from a knockup).

  • This is mentioned in the tutorial, but just incase you miss it, combo skills (such as Graccoon's rollout) are the best for extending combos after someone has hit the ground. Check out some of the combos from our initial combo video to get an idea of what we mean.
